Lake Macquarie Game Fishing Club situated at the port of Swansea was formed in 1962, since that time membership has grown to the extent that is now the second largest club in NSW.

 

It is a family orientated club with seperate divisions for Male, Female, Junior (11 yrs to under 16 yrs) and small fry (under 11 yrs) Anglers.  Normally on the 1st weekend in February, the club will host its annual tournament, the ‘Bigfish bonanza’ where some 60 to 70 boats will participate.

 

The club also participates in the NSWGFA Interclub Tournament which is held the last weekend of February and 1st weekend in March each year at Port Stephens.

This tournament is the largest gamefishing tournament of its kind in the southern Hemisphere

 

Over the years numerous LMGFC anglers have had World, Australian and NSW records granted for Marlin, Sharks and other game fish.
